Thought of the Day: The October Blog is uploaded and The Jumps Season Service 2023/24 will start on Friday, October 27th covering the weekend of Cheltenham (Day 2) and Aintree (Old Roan Chase day). Invitations to re-subscribe to last season's members will be emailed during the first week of October. The General Sports column on Sundays up until that date will continue as usual.
"Paul applies both his sophisticated understanding of racing and years of expetrience in analysis to finding the best betting angles for his loyal fanbase. He takes on an enormous scale of work so that you don't have to. Reading what he has to say often sparks a fresh thought process in my mind or challenges my own conclusions. Whether I end up agreeing with him or not, it's always worthwhile. If you like thinking about racing, this is the place for you."
Lydia Hislop, Broadcaster and Journalist
We will be embarking upon this website's ninth Jumps Season Service from October 26th which also includes a weekly Sunday morning sports column. If you would like to join Paul, the author of the first 16 editions of The Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide (and 38 books in total) and regular columnist for Attheraces for over 20 years for the 2023/24 jumps season (membership is £595) please contact [email protected].
The weekend Race Previews will continue throughout the jumps season as usual in addition to covering Friday’s racing for the six weeks leading up to Christmas, all races of the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals plus the best of the Punchestown Festival and Christmas Week, Big Race Trends plus weekly Ante Post, Horses to Follow and General Sport columns.
As for the 17 weekly Cheltenham Festival columns ahead of 11 consecutive daily columns in the week before and during the meeting, they will recommence on Tuesday, October 31st. Then a short break as usual until they return on Tuesdays at 7.00 p.m. after the Cheltenham November Meeting. The Cheltenham Festival column is showing a +132 points LSP since it launched in 2008.
Once we’re into the flow of the Jumps Season Service the weekly schedule will be as follows:
Monday: Andy Richmond’s Beating The Bias (Horses to Follow)
Tuesday: Cheltenham Festival Column (7.00 p.m.)
Wednesday: Ante Post Focus (1.00 p.m.)
Thursday: Friday's Race Previews (for six weeks up to Christmas) (mid-late afternoon)
Friday: Weekend Race Previews (mid-late afternoon) (on very busy weekends this could be split into two columns over two days)
Sunday: General Sports Column (10.00 a.m.)
In the first two years after the launch of the website Paul nailed huge-priced winners of the two highest-profile races to members recommending Rule The World (50/1) to win the Grand National and Wings Of Eagles (40/1) to win the Derby. Feel free to peruse through examples of other big-priced, recommended winners by clicking on 'View Example Copy' in the right-hand menu and you can also read a betting-related Q&A with Paul that appeared in On Course Profits magazine in the 'Bio' section to give an even better idea of how the website operates and thought processes behind its content. Paul's monthly blog which runs between October-April is also available for all to view and if you have enquiries about the services or wish to view recent examples please get in touch by emailing [email protected] and questions will be happily answered.
Best known for being the author and architect of the Weatherbys-published Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide between 2000-2015 and a trends-based analyst for Attheraces since 2003, Paul has a wealth of experience and has built up a long-standing, industry-respected reputation as a trusted, reliable and profitable-to-follow betting analyst with a high work ethic covering trends and fresh thinking for a range of sports specialising in horseracing and written in an entertaining and conversationalist-style format. Paul’s rationale is aimed at punters who are interested in an additional source of information who enjoy out-of-the-box thinking and a second opinion to formulate his views alongside their own.
Paul has been running a successful horseracing analysis service since 2008 so his contrarian-approach analysis has stood the test of time and is subscribed to by professional punters and smaller-stakes punters alike including high-profile horseracing figures and leading owners. This website (launched November 2015) is not an out-and-out tipping service, more of an overall analysis of races and is aimed at those who already possess a good knowledge of horseracing.
In addition to Paul giving his views on the weekend racing for the Jumps Season, he also provides a weekly build up to the Cheltenham Festival from the end of October, a look ahead to the weekend's action most Wednesdays in Ante Post Focus which has been proved to be particularly lucrative with many big-priced winners of leading races and he will also research Race Trends for the major jumps festivals and the 20 leading jumps handicaps plus all 35 races of Royal Ascot.
If that has whetted your appetite then please drop Paul a message on [email protected] to sign up today.
