The Week Ahead and Much Further Ahead

24/9/17

I’ll be covering the Arc de Triomphe card in Race Previews on Saturday (it would be nice if our 16/1 ante-post position can follow up Found in the same column last year) and, after the Arc, it’s then just Future Champions Day at Newmarket and Champions Day at Ascot before I turn my attentions fully to the jumps.

As such, later this week I will be inviting all current All-Inclusive Service Members who signed up last autumn to re-subscribe outlining details for the next 12 months, which will include the World Cup, Ryder Cup and The Ashes in addition to everything else that is usually covered, so an even busier year ahead beckons. The following week I will be inviting all of last season’s Jumps Season Service Members to re-join following their break since the end of the Punchestown Festival, and then the rest of my database who are not members will be sent a promotional email. All membership fees will remain the same as the first two years since the website was launched. If you would like to be added to my database to receive information on the above then please email me on [email protected].

As for the week ahead, I’m away for a couple of days in the North West including my annual meeting with Aintree Racecourse discussing how I will be assisting them in promoting the Randox Health Grand National so will return on Wednesday with Ante-Post Focus and also my preview of The Presidents’ Cup golf where the Rest of the World take on America which will conclude the 25 golf tournaments that Ciaran and I (mainly Ciaran and with great success in his first year for us) will have overseen this year.

The final Horses to Follow column (now +31pts up for the season at SP) for the Flat will be uploaded next week before I whittle my long list down to ten jumps horses to follow for the months ahead.

Andy Richmond made a profit on his Week 2 NFL selections and his Week 3 recommendations will be uploaded very shortly and hopefully the recommended bet in the Arsenal-WBA Game can make it four out of five winning selections (including the ‘bubbling under’ selections) for the second week running in Premier League Picks.

A couple of other parish notices. Firstly I have been asked to put together my own Cheltenham Festival Preview Evening by a new online magazine called Cotswold Eye that focus on providing video content on their website for events happening in the Cotswolds. If it goes ahead it would be my choice of format (I have my own ideas on this very different from the norm) and my choice of panel so very much a joint venture. Website members will be invited to make up a small but select audience. So watch this space.

Secondly, if you like a good Sports Quiz and based in or near Northants, I am running monthly events at Kettering Rugby Club starting on Sunday, October 8th and they will take place every second Sunday of the month. All eight rounds are sponsored with prizes as will be the overall competition wtth myself acting as question setter and question master. I used to this 20 years ago but gave it up once the kids were born. A good night out.
